How La Cité Put Women in Skilled Trades in the Spotlight

Sometimes seeing someone else succeed can help you imagine a different path for yourself.

That idea was at the heart of La Cité’s ConnectHER “Le Grand Mouvement” forum, which brought women together to connect, strengthen their professional networks and hear directly from those building careers in traditionally male-dominated fields.

Through panel discussions and personal testimonials, women shared their career journeys and the experiences that helped shape them.

Rather than focusing solely on the barriers they encountered, the conversations highlighted how women navigated challenges, found solutions and built successful careers. It was an opportunity to recognize their accomplishments while allowing others to learn from the experience they had gained along the way.

See Their Stories

ConnectHER brought visibility to women building careers in skilled trades and non-traditional fields—and gave others an opportunity to hear directly from them.

Inspiring What Comes Next

For La Cité, creating that visibility was about more than recognizing individual accomplishments. It was also about helping other women see what could be possible for them.

Their goal extends beyond encouraging women to explore careers in the skilled trades. It is about supporting women as they build sustainable careers, develop their potential and move into leadership while creating opportunities for the women who will follow them.
